We were deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of Prof. Aaron Mweene.

He was our valued advisor and colleague and made a huge contribution to the success of our office.

We feel honoured to have had the opportunity to work with him.

May he rest in peace.

Hokkaido University is located in the center of Sapporo in Hokkaido province, the northern island of Japan. Boasting the largest number of faculties of Japan’s national universities, we cover almost all areas of the humanities, social and natural sciences, and lead various research activities in Japan and the world (Graduate Schools: 21, Undergraduate Schools: 12, Research Institutes/Centers: 26).

As a part of the internationalization strategy, Hokkaido University has established overseas offices in the key regions. Hokkaido University Africa Office in Lusaka is the 4th office, established in 2012. In order to expand and strengthen the partnership in Africa, our office provides information and services regarding Hokkaido University to prospective students, plans various events, negotiates with universities to establish inter-university partnerships, and supports former international students in alumni association activities.
