Swearing-in and Prize Giving Ceremony at School of Vet. Med., UNZA

The 26th Swearing-in and Prize Giving Ceremony was held at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zambia (UNZA), where our office is located. The Dean of School of Vet. Med., Prof. King NALUBAMBA, gave welcoming remarks. Twenty four (24) graduands were at hand to be sworn-in and take the Veterinary Oath under the guidance of the Registrar of the Veterinary Council of Zambia. Some of them received the awards and prizes in recognition for their exemplary performance and these included one student who has already commenced his studies at Hokkaido University in Japan.

The occasion was graced by the Japanese Ambassador to Zambia, His Excellency Mr. Hidenobu SOBASHIMA, who was the Guest of Honor. He was accompanied by the High Commissioner of High Commission of the Republic of Botswana, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Dr. David SHAMULENGE, and the Vice Chancellor of UNZA, Prof. Luke MUMBA, who gave remarks as regards the UNZA strategy plan aligned to the international collaborative and academic exchange. Also in attendance were the Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNZA, Prof. Enala MWASE and the Acting President of the Veterinary Association in Zambia, Dr. Amy KINGDOM. The Japanese Ambassador gave his remarks of encouragement for hard work and handed over the awards and prizes to the deserving students. This brought a lot of joy to the recipients and their family members as well as staff of UNZA. The impact of the longstanding collaboration between Zambia and Japan could clearly be felt at this momentous occasion.

The occasion was spiced by colorful traditional dances and celebrations.
