Japanese-Language Specialist from Japan Foundation, Mr. Tomoya TAKAHASHI, came to visit the University of Zambia(UNZA) and observe the UNZA Japanese Course.

On 8th June, in the morning he paid a courtesy call to Head of Department of Literature and Language, UNZA, Dr. Hambaba JIMAIMA, and also made a call to Resident Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Zambia Office, Mr. Junichi HANAI. We discussed the prospective options through which we can improve the UNZA Japanese Course. In the afternoon, Mr. TAKAHASHI observed the class for Level 2 of the UNZA Japanese Course.

On 9th June, Mr. TAKAHASHI visited the Embassy of Japan in Zambia and met with Secretary, Mr. Yuta SEKIYAMA who is in charge of public relations and culture. In the afternoon, Mr. TAKAHASHI delivered a special lecture to the class for Level 1 of the UNZA Japanese Course. The students enjoyed his lecture.

Through his visit, we got some ideas on a further improvement for the development of the UNZA Japanese Course including innovative ways of delivery of teaching and learning the Japanese language course. We, Hokkaido University Africa Office in Lusaka, hope this Japanese Course will be sustainably established and provide much potential to the people in Zambia.
