The President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Dr. Shinichi KITAOKA, came to Lusaka, Zambia and visited our office.
Dr. KITAOKA visited the School of Veterinary Medicine, the University of Zambia (SVM-UNZA), where there has been a long and strong relationship with JICA since its establishment. After the Dean of SVM-UNZA, Prof. King S. NALUBAMBA and other senior staff at SVM-UNZA welcomed him, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Enala T. MWASE, brought him to our office. Our Director, Prof. Masahiro OKUMURA explained our activities, especially about the Study-in-Japan Global Network Project and appreciated the great support from SVM-UNZA.
Dr. KITAOKA also visited other offices related to Hokkaido University in SVM-UNZA, namely, the Hokudai Center for Zoonosis Control in Zambia, the Project for Visualization of Impact of Chronic/Latent Chemical Hazard and Geo-Ecological Remediation in Zambia (KAMPAI Project) Office, and the Project for Surveillance of Viral Zoonoses in Africa Office.
We were so privileged to have him at our office and were able to reconfirm that our activities are important for sub-Saharan Africa and Japan.
